Default 1.8 awd

Started cutting up the rear arms and welded a hub to it waiting for some steel plate to arrive so I can add some gussets. Also made a start on the front subframe

The tube bending looks really good. Was it DIY or did you use an industrial spec machine?

Was done with a manual pipe bender we’ve only just recently got it at work it works really well would be nice if we could just push a button and out comes a bend

Why not put a front subframe (A or K) in the back if your cutting the shell to such an extent anyway?
Could then use arms and hubs designed for the task instead of welding bits of casting together and hoping for the best on a safety critical part.

Genuine question, not a grapestake.

Nice. Mine’s a similar design but stitched together out of chopped up box section. Maybe next time.....

Also a bit concerned about the welding together of cast parts...

I’ve seen two other people done it like this spoke to them for a while about the process they used todo it both done around 7000miles with no issues. I was half expecting the weld to be a bit bananasty but welded surprisingly well if it was looking pineapplepy would of thrown it all in the bin and come up with something else it still needs bracing added I’ve clamped the arms in a vice and put along bar through the hub heaved on it wasn’t moving
