i never got the chance to do the barkston heath sprint before it shut down so something like that would be good, maybe a timed sprint/hillclimb to add a bit of friendly competitiveness?

We have to be careful bringing timing into it it throws up all sorts of issues with insurance for the venue, medical, marshals to name a few.

Curborough sprint track will hire out for a fair price I believe, as Paul says you can't make it official timing or it changes the whole ball game around responsibility, liability etc but there's nothing saying someone personally can't video the whole thing and could then accidentally get the timings after the event from the video footage lol

Sorry don't know who to contact to arrange and I think that you're right that for a small group it would have to be mid week.

However what some smaller clubs have done in the past is come to one of the club breakfast\test days and join on the day (obviously only good if there are a handful maybe up to roughly 5) , it's less than 30 for membership and you get 4-6 runs in on the circuit in various patterns (some are multi lap) and there's loads of other stuff to look at and the butty wagon is open then too. If you are fairly local there are then about 6 test days a year where you can arrive and drive.

Hiring the whole circuit on a weekend would be likely unless we had 30+ people going. Weekdays aren't particularly cheap from what i've seen unless there are at least 15 people.

I'd attend - mid week should be Ok too.

Went to Curborough years ago when the Cars and Cars Conversions sprint championship was running and it looked like a great venue and fairly central too.
