Default Project Drag Bike

Hi All here's another one of those projects you do for someone else. Well my brothers daughter yes my niece wants to do junior drag bike racing one of the cheapest ways to get involved in motor sport at an early age.

http://www.juniordragbike.co.uk/

Simple rules because she is 15yrs old she has to run estimated times rules are here

http://www.juniordragbike.co.uk/technical/

My brother and I have done it before so just so happens an old bike with a 350cc 4 stroke twin with moly frame came up forsale at the right price. Time to strip it down and modify.

A donor bike was purchased which was a fully running Cagiva mito 125cc 33bhp two stroke so here we go on another project beside the 10 I already have on the go.

heres the progress so far

We have only had three full days on the project since buying it so another 3 should see it ready for powder coating then re-fit..

Is that a cagiva 125 engine? That can be a quick little lump pound for pound.

Love the frame skills ...takes me back to the '70's and my dad making bikes for me ....old school and very nice.

Hi, yes it is indeed a 125 Cagiva Mito engine with pit bike forks etc. It should give some where in the region of 33 bhp so not far off the old RD350LC power. It is a chrome moly frame so very light to. My niece weighs next to nowt so it will be interesting times ahead. She will run in Junior drag class so it is estimated times only over 1/8th mile.

However we are going to give it a full shake down hopefully on weekend March 29th/30th. Her dad will be the guinea pig so he will rev the nuts of it and give it some wellie to ensure it all works correctly and safely. Just finished the rad cowls, seat pad and front brake bracket etc etc, so it will change again by the following weekend.

Thanks for your interest, please follow the build on facebook..
