As mentioned before, have you checked the pipes on the master cyl ? The top ( small bore ) goes to the front brakes, and the lower ( large bore ) goes to the rear.
If reversed, you will not be able to bleed them properly, as the system will lock up. You will have brakes, but will be very spongy and won't stop well if at all
