Glad to hear yours came back without any issues, I haven't heard anything apart from a receipt for the email I sent on 26 June, but then I expected to have to wait weeks - the cogs at the DVLA turn very slowly.

What exactly did you send off in the end?

thats good news, what did you send to them with your v5c?
Engine receipt, letter from a garage etc?

Is your tax now more expensive, but correct?

Mine becomes tax exempt next year, might wait till then lol

You destroy it, the dvla record just goes on the document number, which gets updated when the new v5 is created.

I've done them online and its very quick as all automated. Just applied my reg to my jag online and it took about 1min, then 5min on online chat to insurance, done!

Last time i had to take a half day from work and sit in a dvla office for an hour.

Glad they closed them all down!

I'm friends with a chap who has his own garage, so i hijacked their PC one day and wrote out a (surprisingly) professional looking letter stating the following:
Intallation and inspection carried out on Rover Mini Cooper with Registration L123 XXX, chassis number SAXXNNAYCBD123456.
Car now has fitted 1.6L Petrol engine, engine number B16A11000000 which has a cylinder capacity of 1595cc.

Dated, signed and stamped, worked a charm.

Good stuff, I might be able to get my friendly garage to do the same,
Good that they didnt ask you for proof of purchase of the engine

New v5c for my jag cam on saturday, 2 days after changing the reg online
