I do mine on the floor and have a 1 litre “syringe” with a flexi hose on.
I fill it through the filler and weight for it to dribble out and that’s it.

Two months and an official compliant and it's done. To be fair the last guy I dealt with from DVLA was really good and did everything he said he would.

Glad you got this sorted out, one of those things i just never got around to doing. Hopefully your complaint will get them to finesse the process a bit!

Part is the problem is that their website doesn't give the right guidance. For me it should have been like this: Cancel my direct debit I had set up to pay the tax. Then re tax at the lower rate for six months online. Then send the v5 with change of details with the covering letter to confirm the engine capacity etc from a garage plus a cheque for the difference in tax from when the engine change took place or you bought the car to the end of the new six month tax period.

That was not the advice I got from the DVLA letters or the first three people I spoke to on the phone. The last guy sorted it no bother. Saying that it has all changed online but I don't have the v5 back yet.

Glad you got the V5 updated in the end with the correct CC and Tax Class. At least you only have this 12 months and next year it becomes Tax (and MOT) exempt!

How are you enjoying the car?

Don't know if I'm going to go MOT free.

It's been running pretty well and has been fun. Burns a tiny bit of oil when you drop a gear and put your foot down but nothing major. Still have a leak from the gearbox drive shaft outputs but hopefully if I ever get round to changing the box that'll get sorted but it's not a worry.

Going to be ordering some sound proofing soon to fit in the next few weeks. Also I might have sourced some rear doors, I'm going to get them sorted, take the current ones off and then work on them. Also got the plates for the boot floor, but realised I will have to take the tank out to fit them .

Found some wheel balance weights on the floor the other week they were of the rear wheel. Got a great local tyre dealers who balanced them for free. Quoted me just under £90 for Yokohama's should I need to get some. But the fronts are fine at the minute so hopefully won't need any for a while.

Got a load of 2mm dodo sound deadening and 10mm foam. Lined the full load area in the back, the rear door bins and the passenger footwell so far. It's made quite a difference.

How easy is it too get the roof lining out? Think I'm going to spring for a new one. Grey I think.

Noticed inside edge of the front nearside tyre is a little more worn than the driver side, something to keep an eye on I think.
