Default Wheel sizes

Hi people,

Just wondering what size wheels people are using for a metro subframe. Looking at some 13x7 superlites but not sure on sizing.
Many thanks
Ben

This is probably worth reading. There's quite a lot of info already on the site about wheels for Metro subframes. General consensus is that deep dish 7x13s are a bad idea for both handling and wheel arches.

It’ll handle about as well as a hot turd on superlites. I found it to be unbearable and downright dangerous on uneven roads. You need a minimum of ET45 for favourable handling. Ideally ET52 (if I remember correctly) as per metro gti alloys. I can confirm that the 9.5” MGF vented discs & callipers are up to the job.

This also keeps the track from being excessively wide. With my clubby FG front end I found that sportspacks didn’t quite cover my alloys with the GTi wheels, so that’ll give you an idea how wide it’ll be.

Check out post 36 on this link, it will give you an idea of how wide 7x13s on a Mini with a Metro frame actually is
