Default Allspeed bulkhead box

X16xe conversion.
So i am currently installing the bulkhead box from allspeed engineering. Ive cut the hole according to the drawing, but ive done it a few mm higher up than the 40 mm from the bulkhead crossmember. Still, it seems as i have to cut away even more in the bottom part. But the gap between the box is already larger than what i want it to , and it will be worse if i cut away more. Is it ok to move the box a bit higher, will it clear the gearbox?

Thanks

Also, i searched around and found somewhere that the depth of the box should be 40 mm. Mine is 30. Is it a faulty box maybe?

, im talking without knowing what this box is for but can i ask if its to clear the gear change mecinisam?
i fit an 20xe and beleaved i would need the box but i tryed engine and box first and found that a few hammer blows gave me clearance,,,
thats not much use now you have cut the hole!!
also thats if we are talking about the same thing?? i dont know,,
the outcome is>> just fit it and dont worrie,
hope that helps and sorry for not being exsact!!

Yes it is for clearing the mechanism!
I will wait and see if i get more replies,
Shame i already did the hole, as this makes refitting of heater and throttle pedal a bit more tricky!
I dont understand why allspeed would recommend this box if a bunch of hammer whacks would do the same thing though.

I'm assuming you're building LHD Mini and that is where your bulkhead box will have to differ to RHD Minis...
I had similar problems, but the main problem isn't throttle pedal or the heater, it is the brake pedal! The bulkhead box is suppose to be in the way for it, so I made it to fit and get clearance for the pedal and gear change mechanism.
I just mounted the throttle pedal on the box and moved heater 40mm (i think) towards the driver...
Of course, you have to consider that I made a custom frame and that if you're using an Allspeed one you might not have any problems due to different engine position...

Thanks man. Are you using std brake cylinder/clutch?
I will sort the pedals in some way, that is not a very big concern right now.
I just want to confirm that the parts will clear even if i mount the box about 30 mm down from the crossmember, and with a depth of approx 30 mm.
If not, i will need to make my own box because the allspeed one does not fit.

Yes, I will be using std clutch and brake cylinders
Here is where I made my "first" bulk box and then afterwards had to mod it...you can see where I positioned it...

There is not much you can do other that try and fit it...at least that's what I did
