Thanks. Fmic would be a lot better, but let's see how this setup works. You got to leave some space for future improvements, don't you?

My intention is to fit a reverse scoop over the ic to prevent all the rain water going in to the engine bay.

I'm still waiting for my exhaust to come back from the welder so that I can start trying to get the engine started and running.

Meanwhile, here's some pictures of the front with everything else fitted.

I'm still trying to think how to make some sort of grill to cover at least some of the parts..

Exhaust is finally in. Hopefully I get it started tomorrow.

And no, the battery cable isn't touching the exhaust even it looks like it in the picture

200 ponies with standard compression.. only in my dreams If I get over 150 hp without breaking the engine, I'm a very happy man =P

And yes, will post a vid when I eventually get it running...

with 10:1 ratio with 8psi, you should get 185 to 190Bhp.
I hope you have mk2 injectors!

Cheers

We'll see... idea is not to get the biggest numbers but a working engine with way more torque than standard. I don't have mk2 injectors, but ones from Toyota Supra which are 312cc and should be big enough for those numbers.

Got the engine idling! No boost what so ever at the moment as the wastegate is open. Will close it after I get the NA tune working a bit better.

I believe that the clickety-clackety sound is from hydraulic lifters that haven't seen oil for six months. That should stop after a while me thinks...

Next on my to-do list is to seal turbo-downpipe connection as it leaks a bit and then drop the Mini back on all fours.

Mr. Murphy came and had a visit..

I landed Mini on all fours, had a short drive (30m back and forth) and noticed that there was a oil leak between oil pump and engine block. I took everything apart and put a new gasket sealant in. Got that fixed.

Next when I had to reattach a t-bolt fixing to the throttle body, this happened:

Chinese quality.. good thing is that those were sold by pairs so I had spare.

And shortly after that I had to remove the air filter and when doing that, this happened:

British quality this time... Well, I ordered new parts from uk and us and meanwhile to get it running again I had to use an iron wire to hold it place. Hopefully it stays there until I get new parts.

So, tomorrow I'll take it for a longer (1km back and forth) testdrive and put autotune on and hopefully get it running a bit better.

There is a big chance of that

I got a dyno booked for 16.4. Before that I need to find all the weak links and reattach all the falling parts...

Looks good, very curious what it will make on the dyno. How much boost?

Thanks. Most likely won't use more than 0.8bar of boost, probably less to keep it reliable. We'll see what numbers we end up with. For MOT the max bhp number is 112.8bhp.
