TBH the other "usual" suspects (Vaux, Rover & Suzuki) fall down when you want to go AWD as the AWD systems that go with those models seem to have transfer housings in awkward positions whereas the Honda system actually works with a Mini shell because the transfer housing comes out the bottom of the diff.

I think if you want to go AWD then the Honda is your best bet

What about the Suzuki/Subaru justy? Must have been done before.

I just don’t get the Vauxhall obsession, they’re the worst car manufacturer in existence

I’d rather have a Dacia.

My understanding is that the transfer housing is like the Rover (Freelander) set up where the output flange comes out midway up the diff housing so will foul the steering rack unless you relocate it.

Calibra 4x4 setup? one for sale https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-4x4-F20-Gearbox-Rally-Race-Very-Rare-Cavalier-Calibra/362580248721?hash=item546b778891:gr4AAOSweTFceqZ 4

As far as I know a f20 will bolt up, just needs custom flywheel and uses a standard f20 clutch. Also apparently helix do a kit for it.

I didn't think the small bore Vaux motors bolted up to the big bore transmissions ?
