all new brake parts have arrived , i do have two daughters so have a spare , but i should be sensible and make sure brakes are 100%

also converting the front to discs

started on the drivers heater channel , they are a pain to cut out ...

found a coke bottle in the heater channel pipe , guess someone did not need heat

also rear cross member needed replacing

got bored of cutting , so painted a rear quater

next day , back on heater channel , got it in and positioned good , (checked door fit )

and a rear quarter repair panel going on .

end of weekend now , hope to get body bolted back down again this week. and then onto mechanicals / rust at very front of car.

important job , paint windscreen wipers , makes me feel like i have done something

did not get down to beetle this weekend , so spent the day working on the wings

had some real problems with primer re-acting , so think i will have to re-do them later on.

repaired some rust holes , and for the first time used a block of aluminium behind the metal when filling/welding holes .. WOW , makes it so much more easy , god knows why i never used that before!

anyway .. wings all painted for now.

also bought a steering wheel of ebay , and missed out on a stainless roof rack ( was painting the wing )
