Not sure about changing the engine position yet, hopefully the Clubman front should give us enough room. The GTI engine will hopefully be fitted tomorrow

LOL, you had better get over early next week then, my Plasma cutter should arrive tomorrow & I cant wait to try it out. Keep thinking about the roll cage, I would really like this one to look bog standard. But I am concerned about the strength if we don't fit one

Maybe a cage in the rear & hidden box section in the front?

You could try and build a cage that fits really tight against all the pillars so that it doesn't look too obvious.

I think your van was weak when we removed then cage ties because it was de seamed.

Let's get the shell on and see where we are as we said the cage is bolt in

Jerry,

How have you welded the box section to the sills ?

is it just welding the edges of the existing holes on the outside, or have you got welds on the inner sill ?

can't quite see it on the picture
