Sounds like the fuel pump is not running. Check fuse and relay

As Oz said, you need to check the relay, and the wiring to it.
Just changing the relay may solve it, if you're lucky, but may not.
Checking is best.

My car's been unused for the last 18 months, and has recently been started, and runs fine.
This is not the problem.
You don't have to start it every week - better to take it for a run occasionally.
Think you should start by testing the relay ...

Same problem here ticking stopped and no prime at the fuel pump, but if I bridge the relay pins for fuel pump and constant live pump works fine, check relay first by taking it out and looking at solder on the pins. I am yet to find time to do mine as the relays are not cheap and many say that there not a lot in them to go wrong other than pants soldering

I can't offer any help further than what's already been suggested... I just wanted to know where abouts in KSA you are? I work there in ta'if on a rota, usually a month on 2 months off. I'll be there again 2 weeks tomorrow.

Is your mini over there?!

If I get chance to visit Jeddah one weekend I'll let you know pal. All depends on my colleagues though, I can't drive myself there due to a 30km daily restriction on my hire car.
