Yes it will give the actual total range of movement from full droop to full bump, assuming the spring can deflect that whole range. As you say and I agree the springs are of a high poundage, so bouncing the car is really only deflecting them a small amount. Also the bouncing by hand is not really that same as the car hitting a pot hole, those forces will be higher and quicker.

its possibly a problem, but not one of my making! The coilovers are just what it came with, and might need changing by the look of things. No big deal, just expensive and a bitch of a job. When i find out what they are / should be I'll let you know.

Do you have a cutout in the bulkhead so you can remove the top coilover bolt?

Just out of interest, are your coilovers std mini size or bigger type for 2.25" ID springs?

Don't dis AMT. Maybe the bolt should have been inserted from the other side before frame went on car? I don't know on that,just a guess, but it would have been an easier arrangement. If it makes you feel better you have acres of room in your engine bay compared to me. By the way I was in your Photobucket account today, so I suppose anyone can access it.
