My box is a non Gti 1.3 with the required final drive. Be aware that an Mk1 box is different than a Mk2 - on. It will fit but the mounting points are different. The good thing about the Mk1 Gti box is the diff, because that is a X-pin.

Will a Mk1 Gti X-pin diff fit in to a Mk2 GLS 1.3 box with the FD from the GLS?

I have such a set up in my Mk2 box. The diff of the Mk1 is a bit narrower than the Mk2 one so you need two filling rings of a specific size to fill up the excess space. Atchi has the exact sizing of these rings available. I also have them somewhere but have to search first.

Well, the one I sold to my mate is reconditioned using brand new synchros.
If it was non refurb then it could range from 75 to 150 for mk2 but not sure how much mk1 is worth now.
Do you want 1? I have 2 of them and 1 is from my mk1 Gti so I know it is good.

Cheers
Atchi

Could be tempted
Guess I'm getting nostalgic and would be nice having a gearbox to go with my engine, even if it's sat in the corner of my storage! Lol

Well, I have few gearboxes.
Mk1, mk2 Gtis as well as G10.
I know 6 mk1 Gtis in Ireland.
Oh my mate Dave should have few, too.

I have modified bellhousing to run Volvo 360 gearbox to make FRWD as well!
