Ok... Nothing exciting to report!

But settled in my new house and finally have some garage space so will start cracking on with this again if I can find all the parts!

Not exciting but.. given my block another coat of paint, sorted the bottom end parts out ready to balanced then some fresh gearbox oil and lick of paint on the gearbox.

Donít forget to send your bottom pulley, flywheel AND clutch pressure plate and then rods and pistons if you want them doing too but I doubt youíll bother given they should already be pretty damn close.

painted the inside, fitted my dummy engine and adjusted how it sits and so the gearbox does not rest against the steering rack.

A few of you may have seen my comments but i'm initially going to get it back up and running with a standard NA engine while I try suss a few issues I had before and make sure the cooling and oil pipework setups are still good as I have changed both. Dont want to cook the new engine with a silly issue

Nothing much has change... as some of you have seen I cut finally changed the rear lights as just about everybody hated them . Also just double checking and testing all the wiring.

I can't remember how to set the cooling fan to work via the Emerald as was just on a switch before.. If any body can help with this that would be cool

Also keep your eyes peeled in Mini Magazine over the next few months

Double checked and remade half of the loom! But everything is working! Just need to get hold of a standard mini ignition barrel and wire to the rover loom .. ( I used to start it with a screwdriver and had no steering lock)

You managed to hook up the fan to the ECU?

Yes.. sussed it! The Emerald switches to earth to power the fan so started from scratch and added another relay .

Also now have a direct feed and relay to the fuel pump... hopefully that won't melt like the standard wiring did!

Oh... also will be running a tablet on the dash with the Torque App

Thatís cool, only just saw your comment, didnít know if youíd sorted it or not.
Had to do the same thing a couple of years ago because the fan was on a switch.
So much more enjoyable driving and not having to keep an eye on the temp gauge to know when to manually switch on the fan.

Some opinions on this guys... I run these standard Rover dials.

But I'm undecided if having this tablet with the torque app for the ancillary gauges will look tacky? loads of dial faces and options to pick from.

What do we think?
