CV arrived back, made a pair now!

Just need to fit the new red dot cones and top arms into the frame so I can get on with fitting the shafts and alloy hubs.

Iím not prepared to start work on the car at midnight after a couple of beers and a fireball.
More to the point, youíve had a vindaloo and Iím not shutting myself in the garage with your ass.

Decided go with a twin tank setup but without an extra filler neck sticking out.
I had a tank setup that I bought from an old boy a while back who used the setup about 20 years ago with success, it has a 38mm hose joining the 2 tanks and a larger breather fitted to the right hand tank.
The R/H tank was a bit too rusty inside for my liking so I had it copied in aluminium.

I also wanted to do away with the standard sender in favour of dip tube style sender for some gauge accuracy, Iím running a Speedhut gauge so I can program this to suit the sender.

Iíve modified my injection tank with a 38mm outlet that joins to the R/H tank, Iíve gone with a weld then welded on top of those welds to make sure it doesnít leak, Iíll flush them off a little once I know itís not leaking, Iíve blocked the 38mm pipe and filled the tank with water and will leave it overnight to see if Iím good then I need to make an infill for the sender so I can bolt that in and it seal properly.

I was tempted to get the left hand tank made like that too but it gets covered by my boot lining kit I have.
Iím unsure yet wether or not to make a piece to cover this tank or not, thereís a side piece I can modify to fit that will hide the side of the tank and I have the material that was left over because Optimise Auto sent me the remnant because I paid for a certain amount of one off material so I could have brown, so I could make a piece to cover the back too.
Or I could just have it on show for extra attention at shows.

Checked the tank this morning and found one little pin prick but decided to go overboard and go over the lot.

Made up a little flange for the sender

Got a little more grinding to tidy the welds up some more, might even throw a bit of filler on there to smooth it out nicely then Iím going to seal the inside with POR15 tank sealer to make sure itís not going to continue rusting and make sure itís not going to be affected by modern fuels then strip and re-paint the tank and finally I can refit it and fire up the new engine!

He means the other tank. The one he's been 'welding'

As John said, itís the original injection tank thatís getting the sealer, thereís some signs inside of slight rust, nothing major but modern fuels with more and more ethanol arenít going to help anything other than help the rust so I figured Iíd seal it now and have done.
Itís my right hand tank thatís alloy.
The POR15 tank sealer would have taken care of the pin prick hole too but Iíd rather know there was no holes to start with.
Now that I know the leak is taken care of Iím going to crack in with prepping it for a re-paint, Iím going to remove the dampening off the tank and then replace it once Iím done, I have some Silent Coat left over from years ago I can use up for that.
