Finished the exhaust manifold and thought it would be a good idea to wrap it as it's going to be about 1/2" from the front grille. Got the front pipe on too, just need to sort the rest of the exhaust now.

It's been a while since the last up date, so here's what I've been doing, apart from freezing me nuts off out in the garage.

The plan is to build a new dashboard that will house the MG F, ZR speedo etc and then make moulds of all the sections.

I decided to trash the old dash I made a few years back and use parts of it to make the basic shape for the new one, plus a bit of roof guttering, cardboard and loads of packing tape to hold it all together

Here's the old dash

and here's all the bits taped together

Then covered it in fibreglass matting

Test fit

Then covered it in loads filler

Filler sanded down and another test fit...just to be sure.

The speedo surround was next.

Now I need to design a centre section to hold four 52mm gauges, MG switches and heater controls and if there’s room, a master cut-out switch.

Any suggestions welcome

If you want a bit of bling then what about using the Rover BRM heater controls? They’re a turned aluminium finish and look quite nice compared the black plastic.

I like the sound of aluminium, but I'm not keen on the star shape design, would be better than plastic though.
