I had it running for a while, everything works apart from the alternator. I've only connected the main charge cable, not the smaller 2 as I thought these were only used for the charge light. The voltage stayed around 12v it should go up to 13.5-14v when charging. Does anyone know why it won't work? Please tell me alternators still work when spun backwards! It's a little Daihatsu Nippon Denso one.

I'm surprised how little movement there was in the engine though, once it was running. I only had the lower engine steady connected but it seemed quite stable without too much vibration through the shell. I've got an upper one that connects to the engine mount to bolt in too.

Doesn't look like there will be any clearance issues.

You’ll need to connect the small wires too, one will be a switched live.
