Default Malaysia

Just wondering if there were any Malaysian member on here?

I've found a set of rare wheels I'd like (in Malaysia) but a bit wary of sending money over 'blind' with no comeback if the wheels never arrive.

All the best to everyone,
Pete

Hi Pete,

I'm a French engineer based in Malaysia, what do you need help with?

Hi Olivier. Um, I'm not sure really. Maybe you've heard of this guy (and know whether he's reputable)?

Seems like he's in an area called Perlis though, which is a fair way from Kuala Lumpur, so I'm not sure there's much else you could do?

Are the Malaysians generally an honest and upstanding bunch? i.e. If I PayPal him over the money, am I likely to ever see the wheels?

TBH the guy seems genuine / honest enough, just it's a long way to travel if I need to go debt collecting!

I am from Malaysia but based in Germany currently. Hard to say but generally they do keep to their word especially if an order is coming from overseas. Bulk of the sales are normally local.

Get as much info as you can before doing the transaction.

You could maybe send a pm to Mini fab?

Although he's based in the philippines he builds vtec minis for customers so you never know he may have come across him through his circles, worth a punt

Is there an insurance when using paypal ? I think you can go against the seller through paypal if it turns out bad. But there are good people in this world, especially mini enthousiast.

Providing you pay by paypal GOODS*, if it goes sour you can open a dispute and you will be refunded.

*if you've sent money before through PayPal, you'll know you can choose the options, I.e, goods and services, gift etc. some sellers prefer you to send it as a gift as this doesn't deduct money their end after you send it (as PayPal take a percentage) but you will not be covered as afterall, you sent a 'gift'. If you want to make sure he receives the full amount, there's a calculator (google search paypal fees calculator, think its the first page. Has 'tree' in the website name) which allows you to work out how much PayPal will deduct his end, so you can just add it on to the amount you send.

Hope this helps!
