Yeah I think he claims 180hp with them and breathing mods.

There is a forum thread about someone who fitted them and did a rolling road before and after, gained a little torque but no extra hp. They then fitted the dva dowels and got a 3hp gain lol

I've been told a remap is the key, I'm already running the '170' map but going to get a custom one done on the rollers soon. I can also see what happens with nos and might even dial it back some for reliability when on the gas.

Hi Ed, apologies if I've missed it but what brakes are you running on this? Is it the normal MGF set up on the front? How are you finding they stop you? I'm asking as I've got a project starting, which will be on 14's, trying to find the most effective 'standard' brakes I can get.

Outstanding build btw, quality work done by yourself

Thanks

I'm running standard mgf 240mm brakes on the front and Allegro rear drums.
Obp pedal box with no servo, has a balance bar set to bias the fronts and I have a valve in the rear line as well.

They are hard work.

This weekend I swapped the generic front brake pads for some Mintex 1144 compound.

There is defiantly more bite and braking effort on them now, so pleased as they are not cheap!

Still looking into a Corsa sri rear disc conversion for the winter months, my 2nd hand obp fluid pots are weapy at the bottom seals too which is annoying. I have a new set that look to be a better design to go on but that means pushing all the fluid out and rebleeding, another job for the winter.

Appreciate the response, thanks! Haha, I'd imagine with no servo they require a fair bit more effort, I have m1144's on my mini and thought they were good. I'll look into the F set up, would be helpful as they have the same pcd. Corsa rear discs sound good, I was looking into zr rear beam setups

Sorry to hi-jack your thread EDK, Will I thought you were running 10" wheels with mini hubs on your car? if so the MGF set up won't fit as it use's the MGF front hubs, calipers & disc's so will only fit under 13" wheels plus the lower ball joint is a pinch bolt design where the ball joint is attached to the lower arm and not the hub. Here's and exploded view showing the components, I apologise if this is something that you have already looked in to.

Yes, apologies for hijack Ed Thanks gadget, that is my mini setup but this is for a maestro! Its on 14's too, trying to get as big/best brakes as I can find, will be heavier than Ed's allegro however, thats a very helpful link too

It went for a thrashing on a dyno yesterday.

I'll take that for a little K series I think

Some pictures from the NEC this weekend

The Allegro club stand was in a good position this year, I also managed to get a sit in a GT40, orange wheels for the win! Harris Mann signed one of the cars when he visited the stand too.
