Default Alpine K

After what seems like a life time, I am finally ready to get my project underway. I have a nice A series mini, added a supercharger to it in the search for more power. Not enough. Started to look into getting more power and stumbled upon this forum. You only need to read through a few of the build threads to get hooked. So which path to follow? i have a friend who owns a bike garage, after a few pints a yamaha R1 conversion should do it. The thought of changing gear at 13000 RPM is quite exciting. A Vtec mini? a suzuki? or what about a K series? tonnes of cars about, low prices. I started reading and finding out as much as i could. I have done my homework, Finished renovating my house, so here we go
First of all i need a garage so time to dig up the garden.

Try it for size

RSJ's big enough to hold a block of flats up, or a little mini

First off, nice place, how longs it taken?.. Furnished yet? Any alarms? CCTV? What locks are you using? And when are you next going away.......lol

I've got to say I'm bias towards the rover k series but possibly only because from the start, I worked with what I had and which happened to be the k series and have grown to quite like it.

If I was to go back and start fresh Id possibly look in to the bike engines, in regards to future tuning - turbos nitrous etc

For me if the bikes lacked the lacked the scope of future modding and tuning Id go with a car setup of some sort. And if I was to start over Id go though a list comprising of, in order;

Honda
Rover
Volvo
Subaru

I've found a huge amount of people mod civics so knowlege is vast
People are put off by the rover k series due to the head gasket stigma so information is limited.
Volvo for me sounds appealing because something inside me keeps saying i can fuel it with larva and it'll still be indestructible... Not sure why, I've not researched them yet, but do plan on using one for a future project
And lastly a Subaru as they're reletivly cheap now even with the huge upgrades etc previous owners have already done.

For me, there always seem to be an additional upgrading path to godown with the rover k series and always feels uncharted which gives it a litte more appeal.

I think i need to point out the nice stone house at the back of the garage is not mine. Our house is opposite. It will appear in a few of my photos i am sure.
I was a design engineer to start with, now a plumber specialising in spas and swimming pools.

ardonfast the minis are safe and secure. I am quite lucky where i live, you can leave your car open with the keys in and no one would take it, or leave a window open and a neighbour will close it for you.
But a black country lad never forgets to take precautions, I have some neat boobie traps for anyone tempted to enter with their sticky fingers

I live in the French alps now, near the ski resort of meribel and courchevel. the flatbed is perfect for the mini. it fits on with a 5cm gap front to back, so if i head to any UK shows i can load her up on a Friday and boot it down the autoroute with my van. 8 hrs to Calais
You are all welcome to come and visit, some of you have already been and sampled the local mountain roads. Fridge is always full with beers, fine wine and summersworth Ale.

InstantCustard it would make a great place for a mini meeting, some of the roads were used in the italian job film, amazing roads with smooth tarmac, mountain passes and lakes. A lot of the properties are only used in the winter so plenty of accommodation.

this is one of my favourites. how fast could you get to the top?
