Ahhhh Dan, just caught up with this, gutted for you mate!
![]() Its a shame so close after the rolling road and it looking like you was getting some good fun road use out of it aswell Oil filter will be going back to the usual place right? It doesn't look too bad there but yeah you might have been strangling the oil press even at low revs if that hose was too small. And as MiniLandy mentioned earlier best you find out what caused this before you knacker the new lump going in just incase it wasn't lump related Fair play though on sorting it out sooner rather than later - keep at it ![]()

Hi Kam.
Going to try and get it back in its original spot, failing that, I will try and mount it as close as possible. Typical though, I got back from Plymouth yesterday and the 12mm hose was waiting for me, can't help but feel if the service hasn't been so slow I'd have fitted the correct hose and triple checked everything, possibly preventing my problem, but, until I diagnose the problem, I can't say exactly what the issue was. Never mind! Spent this morning going over some prices and trying to get the best deals I can on parts. It's amazing the price difference on the exact same parts from different suppliers. |

Yeah spending the time checking everywhere does help big time, always find a deal
Just been thinking, my oil pressure gauge is the digital type, so I can see exactly how much it differs with each pedal load or if I'm just feathering it on idle, so even if you think the engine is taking it easy just taking it around the block the pressure is changing quite a lot on the move Hope you sort it

Bonus! Got home today to have a letter from one of my credit cards offering 12 months interest free on balance transfers.
Needless to say, I am more than happy to leave my savings where they are and take my credit card up on this offer! ![]() |

Starting from the bottom!
New OE water pump New OE oil pump Baffled sump New updated Land Rover oil ladder Federal Mogul mains New OE thrust washers Lightweight flywheel Crank, conrods, 160 pistons, clutch cover all balanced. Mahle Motorsport big ends New Goetze liners New Goetze piston rings MLS head gasket New OE head bolts Ported & flowed VVC head Piper VVC blanking kit Piper BP285H solid cams Piper springs Piper steel caps Turbosport vernier pulleys Port matched VVC inlet 52mm throttle body Emerald K6 Will probably upgrade to Jenvey DTH throttle bodies at some point which is why I went with the 285 cam, apparently its perfect with throttle bodies. |
