Been doing this on the Escort. Was meant to be a redundancy project but I got fed up of waiting for work to sort their bananas out.

If I take it out the garage the Mini will get lonely.

Youíll be replacing the tyres because theyíre old and theyíll still have the knobbly bits on!

Only just noticed this post Dave. Mineís nothing as exotic as a YB, just a trusty old xflow.

The car looks good, after selling mine 8years ago to buy a cooker for our house, I have finally bought another one. My first one I had bought all the bits to make it XE powered but I have gone off the idea now, not original.

I am now going down the 205 pinto route with mine, I am astonished at how many parts you need to fit the thing in the engine bay. I thought it would be an easy job, I am fitting a 5 speed type 9 to it at the same time too. Itís only going to be about 130bhp - fast road cam, twin 40ís Ashley exhaust and injection head (better flow in the head).

Keep us updated to anything else you do to it, I should do a build thread with mine over the winter really.... just trying to get all the parts ready to do it in one go, rather than spending months doing it.

Thanks
Kris

I knew there was a thread of the old escort somewhere:

http://www.16vminiclub.com/showthrea...ght=Mk2+escort

New escort is really tidy and all up together, unlike the one in the link I used to have lol.

Thanks
Kris

Be interested to see your build thread Kris. I did consider a Pinto but thought if I was going to swap from a xflow then I may do another small block Vauxhall engined car. I'd say my xflow is around 100-110bhp so nothing too wild.

Had a spot of bother with erratic running which I traced to me getting 2 wires the wrong way around on the TPS. Swapped them over and itís all running much better. This is it all warmed up and running on the adaptive map
