I finally decided to build a Vtec mini!
To fund this new venture, i need to sell my other minis: This was my 76 A-series powered mini [lURL=http://974.photobucket.com/user/minimeetnorth/media/Mini%20Van/IMG_0057_zpsuiebuu5r.jpg.html] ![]() Last edited by joltfreak; 07-08-2017 at 12:20 AM. |

And this was my corvette v8 powered rwd 78 mini
![]() ![]() ![]() Some people may ask why would i want to sell these two mini to build another? The main reason is that both these minis are two seaters and i have two kids that always want to go for a ride whenever i try to take one of the minis out.... That being said, I never get to drive these minis. My plan with this mini build is to be able to seat 4 people and still have LOTS of fun!! Last edited by joltfreak; 07-08-2017 at 12:21 AM. |

One of my buddies seen that i was selling the green mini and we made a deal! As part of the deal i got a mint mini shell that i could use for this build. This mini van is in awesome shape and would be perfect platform for this build!

This shell was originally RHD and i want to make LHD. This van did not have the holes in the shell for the LHD steering rack and wipers. I drilled out the hole and mounted the LHD rack:

I got a single beam rear axle with KAD alloy swing arms for a sweet deal! It included coilovers for the rear. I want to mount both frames to ensure that it all fits and i dont need to cut anything after i get the shell painted. This also lets me see how the wheels are going to sit and how i will mount me wheel arches.
Here are the rear subframe installed: ![]() Last edited by joltfreak; 07-08-2017 at 12:23 AM. |

The current plan is to try to keep the mini looking stock up i want to update things as well:
I took the steering column and added a swivel since i plan to drop the column lower and want to minimize stress to the coupling from the column to the rack. ![]() ![]() Last edited by joltfreak; 07-08-2017 at 12:25 AM. |

I also wanted to add a quick release steering wheel but i didn't want to have a huge boss for it. I decided to cut and weld a new end to the column to make it work:
![]() With this new end, i could use any "momo style" 6 bolt steering wheel! ![]() This will also add a little bit of length in the column which is also good since my seat will be further back. Last edited by joltfreak; 07-08-2017 at 12:26 AM. |

I also shortened the outer column to fit. It came out pretty good! Still need to clean it up and paint it.
