A few observations that I am now in the middle of sorting out.......

The engine kept its cool but I would like a custom rad none the less as it currently leans back and doesn't look professional. Perhaps a more rectangular shaped one instead the of the current square honda one.

BRAKES.... are utter rubbish. Im going to work my servo back in and also upgrade to bigger calipers. Currently running cooper s. I got lucky and acquired a brand new set of KAD 4pot vented 8.4inch jobbies last week for 410. They will be fitted this week. cue porn..

Sadly I will be loosing the 10x6 rims Going to buy 13x6 to accommodate the KADS.

RPM... I need a better final drive, currently sitting at 4K doing 60mph. Will sort that over the next year, Im not a speed freak.

Sound deadening, or lack of. Im going to spend alot of time focusing on removing vibrations. Im after a modern cruiser with classic looks.

Other than that it performs well, pulls like a train and my gheto wheel alignment, caster & camber / corner weighting is working well. Very little torque steer. She will get booked in for a full setup once I address the wheel / brakes / and sound deadening.

Thanks, David

Brilliant stuff, fair play. I didn't see you at IMM but I'm sure we will cross paths at some stage.

If you.want to.stay on 10" rims then look at the Mk1/2 fiesta caliper conversion with decent grooved 7.9" disks.and decent pads. They really are good and can be done for about 100-150.

Apart from that looks really good there fella!!

We were camped opposite you at IMM. I didn't realise the pace of the build at the time as I haven't been in here since the crash but the mini is fantastic in the flesh!

Cheers! It was a rapid build for sure. IMM was a good event. Our mega bright torch helped matters

Think this thread is due an update.

Been driving about in it most weekends and enjoying the power. Upgraded the brakes and what a difference. Still running non servo at the min. Will upgrade to servo over winter.

Had mintex pads in, awful. Squealed the whole time. I just couldn't get them hot enough on the road i guess. Now running ebc green stuff, cracking pad. Heats up quickly, no squeal and stops the car.

Over a few miles the steering started to increase in play. I checked all the usual areas but couldn't remove the play. It was un-nearving, I would turn the wheel a good 8th of a turn before the wheels reacted ! In went a new rack, thankfully i was able to get it in without unbolting the subframe.

I then turned my attention to the air filter. I bought the ram air filter without even thinking. Last minute ebay auction days before I set off for IMM. Since replaced with a Suitable sized K&N job. No more irritating whirl noise from the filter!

I then made a dash and hid all the Honda wiring loom. I had the Honda ignition barrel and key lying on the passenger floor. I have since incorporated this into the mini ignition barrel. I have still kept the Honda mobilizer encase any thieving pricks try it on. I also got some new 13inch wheels for it. Seats to be re done in black when i get some money gathered up. These minis aint cheap

Took it to a show and received good comments along with the normal 'you ruined it' comments.

Next on the agenda (over xmas) is to pull the gearbox and fire it over to Jeff at watsons to convert the final drive to 3.4. While the engine is out I will fit the servo and make a new rad.

Cheers, Dave

Great stuff I always enjoy your updates, whats the clearance like between the caliper and tie rod at full lock and have you got any pics of the filter fitted?
