I started to prep the pistons and rods for installation this evening.

There was only 0.1g between the pistons but there was up to 1g between the pins, the rods where way off as well.

With some careful matching and some minor fettling I got each assembly to within 0.1g of each other. 919.8g

I'll get the rings gapped over the next few days so I can get the rotating assembly finished.

Nice the rods are a double entity as the cross over end to end so big end (END)
Need to be more equal than the rest ,
I find it pleasurable polishing off a small part each time,
Looks good stuff,

I'm going to balance the rods this evening, from a very rough check they look very close.

I got a bit more done today, my daily is giving a bit of trouble so thats eating some of my time.

Pistons fitted to rods, I've had the pins in a freezer at -60C since Monday so they went in easy enough.

The pistons and rods are assembled with the piston arrow and rod ID cast marks on the same side. Its hard to see in the picture but it might help somebody.

Listen Keith for your own sake you've got to stop taking these shortcuts and lashing this car together, you'll regret it later.

Fantastic attention and workmanship. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't get a lot done over the weekend I had a wedding on Friday and was fixing the daily yesterday, I started the slow and tedious task of gapping the piston rings this evening.

I had a couple of parts delivered as well. All my calculations and machine work has been based on a standard Honda head gasket. These gaskets are good up to 81.5mm bore. I got a Skunk2 camshaft seal as well.

At last I have the rings gapped and fitted to the pistons, I'll let them soak over night like a good pudding and fit them tomorrow.

I got the short block finished this evening, my piston ring compressor decided to go into 100 pieces so had to get a new one. Platigage worked out the same as measurements. I'll get the head on over the weekend.

Nearly there now with the engine just waiting on the intake and exhaust manifold.

Skunk2 Titanium cam pulleys.

The most important part. Vtec solenoid.

Timing belt and covers fitted.

Rocker cover and and 8.5mm HT leads fitted.

Allspeed altenator bracket fitted and aligned.

I fitted the recommended 750mm belt and its not within an Asses roar of fitting. Way to long, I'll measure the correct length and get a new one.

The exhaust manifold arrived this evening, it will need some modding but looks good and will get the engine running.

Nice work.

With your handy work I bet you could get it under a standard roundnose
