Default 16v northern sprint championship

I was thinking, what with the interest myself and Alan have been getting, the comerardery and the banter, about us running a northern sprint championship from within the club.

first ideas are a basic entry fee for the year, with that providing a throphy and prize money for first place.

Entrants for next year look as if we could be starting with
myself
AlanMcd
AlanD
Andy S
and Smurfy

Any idea's or comments anyone

the championship that we have been doing this year is with the auto66 club in scarborough, do a google.

The events are held at olivers mount scarborough, croft, elvington york, cadwell, 3 sisters wigan and teesside autodrome.

Its been a good crack upto now and i was thinking about us getting there the night before and bbqing etc

Alan if your going to build something faster then is it going to honda powered.

For those that dont race or have show cars how about popping along for the crack and a burger.

I have a large large tent that we can use and if matts interested thats great we can prob get the 16v banner.

could be good, just need to set up a few rules (mainly to stop the vauxhall lads from winning)

To compete you need to join the auto 66 club and get an rac licence, about 60 a year but believe me its money well spent.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

I just did my first sprint yesterday at Mallory Park (thread to follow soon), and it was fantastic. I don't mind trying to help out if there is anything that needs sorting.

looks like we have sufficient interest to get it off the ground then so the championship is now officially on for next year, get your cars built and may the best man win!!!!!

I don't think you'll be able to join in with the BINI unless you stick a roll cage in it

For the people who've not seen the link on previous threads

www.auto66.com

(and if he ever has time for my Midget, an MX Midge could be beating the pants off the lot of you )

i think you will be able to as it will be running in the standard production class and im certain cages are not needed in that class

Yes, i was thinking anyone from the club should be eligible. we need to set up the rules and scoring method etc so it maybe bike engines have a different class or something. I think all contestants should have an input to the rules to try and make it fair to all variants of our hybrids.

any ideas on this are welcome
