The missus has promised the kids tablets for Christmas but i'm a bit out of touch with whats about, any reccomendations for something reasonably cheap but OK quality and the best places to buy them? I suggested an etchasketch but that didn't go down too well...

A used iPad is going to be better than most of the cheaper tablets in all fairness

There is fundamental problems with the I clitoris in that they don't regulate adds & aren't future proof! in the way that they restrict things the older that they get until your unable to update them any more. We also found with our kids using them is the amount of adds that come on the screen when they are playing/watching things, the next thing you know is that they are several screens/pages away from where they were and with the wrong click of a page they could be about to purchase something! (big court case in America about this) We've got ours Kindles and they can do just the same amount of things that you can do with an I clitoris without the adds and the chance of buying something they/you didn't want. Plus there are better parental controls that can be set on the kindle, the content that they have access to, the amount of time that they are on and that they have to do some homework or the likes before they can access the games and such like. Just my opinion from having access to Apple products I absolutely can't stand them! My wife used to have and I clitoris for several years and now has transferred away from them, basically when an update came through the phone started getting slower and it didn't hold it's charge as long.

My nephew and niece have a Samsung tablet and when they’re showing me their games they are full of pop ups and ads also.
I think you’ll find they’re built into the games and not the tablet.

I would honestly stick with some old ipad minis. They don't need to be the latest ones. We all know too well the whole Apple Vs Android debate etc but I think for kids (and older people), the software is intuitive and chances are the app store will have all the latest games their friends play too.

Personally I wouldn't touch an Apple product with anybody else's barge pole but Wowcher are offering them for £99 https://www.wowcher.co.uk/email-deal...1616&st_cat=23 I'd go with Samsung every time but these are an option.
