Quick Q? Where have you plumbed the expansion tank in? Or haven't you done it yet?

Not done it yet. Yet another job that needs ticking off. Had to spend a bit of cash on the Punto this month in readiness for the MOT so things have been delayed slightly. That and the fact that I can't seem to be peachd...

Yeah, missing the 'ring run deadline with mine has given me a total loss of motivation!
BUT, I'm back on it now, tried to sort out the plumbing at the weekend and got to the expansion tank and though 'Aaah, where to tap the expansion tank into?' lol |

OK well its been a while but I managed to spend a couple of hours on it on Saturday. Got my pedal box bolted down and a bit of the plumbing done. Not sorted brakes yet (hopefully Monday night) but I've got a clutch

Well not much to report as of late.
Painted my bulkhead box, fitted TB's, plumbed cooling system in, fitted fuel pipes, finished wiring Megasquirt in, put some petrol in AND.......nothing. Bugger. Not getting a spark. Changed a few settings thanks to Jay at Vaux-Extreme but still no luck. Off to the scrappies on Saturday to look for a 3-wire Ecotec coilpack as the amped ones are tosh apparently. Cheers- John |

Cheers Al but think I will get the ecotec one. Heard a few people say they are better than the 1.4/1.6 ones.
Is yours let loose on the road yet? |

OOOOOHHHHH its fired up!!! Went to the scrappies for an Ecotec coil pack but no joy so got myself a Ford one. Fitted that and after blowing numerous fuses for the coilpack it settled down nicely with a 15A and tried firing. Coughed and spluttered and died quite a lot before coming to life.
Sounds like a bloody bag of spanners! Very hit n miss whether it starts or not so just upped the Fuel map slightly and seems to have helped. Problem is if I try n give it any throttle it starts backfiring through the TB's. Now while it looks great its not really what I'm after. Think I've had mice in my exhaust too as it blew lots of empty sunflower seeds out! LOL John |
