Been a very long time since a update, the project has been on the back burner for a few years. But in the last few months we've got on with it again.
The subframe has had a redesign, a new smaller alternator has been fitted.
The drive shafts are the last major part left and they have been finished today

Faced off to length and the Honda shaft turned down and a sleeve made.

Two halves welded together and the weld turned down flush.

Sleeves slid on

Then welded

Also bought some 2mm gasket material (aluminium core) and made a new inlet gasket.

Then plugged the loom etc in and fired the engine up and run it until normal temp to make sure the cooling system works and there was no leaks etc

Looks like a few posts have been lost

Basically the following has happened since the last post....

Shafts built up

4 pots and vented disks installed

Maniflow exhaust bought and fitted ( can't find pic of it fitted)

Engine installed

Modified the gauges to move some of the warning lights

New binnacle made to match the Honda clocks

Interior wiring and sound proofing installed

Dash painted and built back up

That pretty much brings us up to date

Looking good. How did you mount the cluster to the new binnacle?
And did you use a new piece of flat Perspex or modify the original curved one somehow?

A combination of screws and brackets. It's a new piece of Perspex.

Feels like we're getting somewhere now

Dash is in, new steering wheel fitted as the old one was the wrong Colour and tatty. FYI the MG TF steering wheel is identical to the mpi wheel but 10% of the price.

Also the carpet has started to go in.

Is it possible to debag the MGTF or any other steering wheel? I like them but am sure one can not send courier them with airbags live.

Sorry I just don't have the time, it's taken 8 years to get this far and I have a few other projects to get on with.

Well it's been a long time since I posted on this thread, the mini has now been on the road 2 years now and except for a rad fan relay failing there's been no issues.
Mini has attended a few local events and castle Combe
