I am planning to run the track day run by the MG owners club, like I did last year.
They were very welcoming and I would say my Mini was middle powered compared to the cars there that day. Lots of Midgets and MGF's but the quicker cars were the MG B GT V8's. I have done no power modifications to my Mini, but swapped the gearbox and now has a LSD fitted. Also brakes uprated to vented with Mintex pads. It was a great day out until my alternator bracket snapped in session 5 (out of 7). Had to get recovery home. ![]() Video of the day:- Link to their site:- http://mgs-on-track.com/events/159/c...2014-04-11.htm

When I watch back my own video, I sit here thinking why did I slow down here there and everywhere! It's easy to sit at home on the computer and see the mistakes. I missed 5th about 4 times on that video alone but that was because it crunched. That's now sorted with rebuilt gearbox but due to higher ratio's probably won't need 5th anyway. Also the number of times the limiter was used isn't good either.
I had an instruction session and he told me you don't lift at Coppice either. It was my first time remember... ![]()

Would absolutely love to come to this, but think I've got quite a lot on in April.

Andrew
I know I was not criticising just trying to help. When I did a track day there prior to starting racing I took Terry Wing round, I don't know if you know of the 3 wings (Father mother and son) who do Barkston, well son races and is quick, Dad sprints but would love to race, anyway I took him round and was changing down for Coppice (It was wet as well) he laughed and said don't slow so next lap I was whizzing up to the corner max chat and kept saying to Terry "Are you sure", in the end we sailed round no problems. All part of the fun, but taught me a lot that run. |

I'd love to come to this, but I don't think my mini will be mapped and had the suspension setup done by then.

Well I managed to get a place but had to be quick!
![]() It's sold out in 24 hours! Looks a good line up and I don't expect to be fastest on track. I just hope to get there, go tear arsing around all day and drive home. ![]() http://mgs-on-track.com/events/159/c...2014-04-11.htm
