i flared the pipe by using a bolt held in a vice then put the pipe over it and sort of levered it to push a lump out and worked it around, then a small hammer to tidy it up

instant custard thanks man, i was dreaing this gear change bit, and was still abit puzzled after seen ur picture, ithink i had been over thinking it far to much and pickled my brain, basicly the steady bar gets the u shaped bracket cut off then what resembles a boy racers honda towing eye welded on with a bolt to the lower rear diff casing ( didnt notice that one before) then the mini type rod change coupling with an extension then another rod change coupling. will put this in to fabrication tomoroow or so

toying with the thought of these

I wouldnít bother with anything like that, if you need a coupling then I do have a spare one you can have, just cover the postage.
I only fitted the MiniSpares one because I get annoyed with the roll pin, you could just stick a bolt through it.

Yes It arrived...very little movement on gears..but rod is tight against the tunnel so this maybe making it worse as there is no spring left to right and this is before i fit the short shift, will mod tomorrow and try again before i make a true judgement
also the stick /box seems to close to passenger side

but still if its progress its faster than it has been

Donít seem to have much of an issue with mine, still sits in the centre of the hole and doesnít push towards the passenger side, probably down to engine position.
It might just mean having to put more bend in your selector rod and and a bend in the steady rod instead of matching mine.
