Mine comes out underneath, I don't find the pedal heavy and the wife's never complained either.
The automatic Minis came with a blanking plate if you don't want to make one.

Managed to get a bit more done.
Touched up the paint on the bulkhead and put the master cylinder back, awaiting the arrival of some titanium nuts to finish that, didn't want to mix stainless and mild, so decided had to be Ti!

You'll notice I got rid of the wood screws too!

Don't seem to have spark, although I have been pulling the wiring about a bit, so that will be my first port of call this weekend when into get it started.

Thanks Shaun, I'll try that.
It is purely principle, id have thought anything around 100g is acceptable, but to be over 50% heavier than advertised is a bit excessive.
