arrived in the post today some 4 pot calipers and 8.4 " vented disks

quickly stuck the calipers on a spare hub ( didnt bother with the disks)and theres clearance when using a standard 12"mini wheel

and plenty of space with the 12x6 revolutions that i might fit

just have to find some time to actuly do any thing on the build

after uploading the pics yesterday it spurred me on to dig out the frame and do a bit more

so today i finished off the engine mounts let the frame take the weight of the engine for the first time

except for some stiffener braces etc its done

will take some new pics tomorrow

managed to get the engine into the frame today, what a kuffufle

any ways some pic to show it fits ;D

got a fair amount of clerance on the pot joint so the engine can be moved back abit

the frame does sit a bit low but id rather the car bottom out and hit the frame than the sump

engine isn't sitting square in the frame at the moment, mainly because i was to excited to line it up properly and just bolted it down and fitted it to the mini

Just a thought but would it be better to turn the rack 90' so that the spindle points upwards ? When you use a UJ it'll make the angle column (and the steering wheel) much flatter making the driving position much less "sit up and beg".

The Watsons set up is similar and the angle of the column is much more comfortable than a mini setup

As i said, just a though

not really much to report but today i removed the fuel sender from the civic tank and modded it to fit where the original mini one does.

it was very straight forward and im pleased with the result, will post some pics when i get chance

not really much in the way of progress but today i attacked the sump

and then plated it up

i started grinding down the weld but quickly got bored and it wont really bee seen when in the car so i just primered and sprayed it up.

today i took the civic's internal fuel pump out of the tank and chopped out the mounting flange from the civic tank, the flange was then welded to the top of a spare mini tank Mpi style.

with the flange in place i was able to fit the pump but with the civic having a under floor tank the pumps bracket was very short which results in the pick up point being only half way down the mini tank so the bracket was chopped and extended to place the pump at the bottom of the tank ;D

I'll get some pics sorted tomorrow which will explain things allot better.
