So at this point I went K series. You instantly get 150bhp. Almost double what you have. A much more reliable engine and more to the point, gearbox.

But there is always someone who's quicker. Where do you stop???

I can tell you now, I'm just keeping mine as it is, on the road...
I'm with you on this one Andy. I've hardly been on the road since Castle Combe due to one mod or another.
I'm stopping after I get my new radiator installed and decided to actually enjoy driving the thing.

You planning on keeping the front windows as wind up and down?
The Perspex ends up scratched, I thought about doing just the rears and then decided I wanted to keep the heated rear screen so it would end up just being the rear side windows which didn't seem worthwhile.

I'm going with fixed windows with the little sliders and will be removing the lifter mechanisms from the doors. Should save some weight and my current front glass panes are scratched

There's a lot of weight to be saved in the doors and glass, I'm going with polycarbonate Windows and aluminium skins with the inner part of the door cut out, normal door is around 20kg built up, with what I'm doing (essentially a street fighter door) they can be as little as 5-6kg built up so that's almost 30kg saved just with the two doors

Each to there own, but personally I prefer having the windows down on a sunny run out with our Mini club.

Too much "race car" for me.

I can understand your view on that, but remember I have my other mini to finish that's going to have a full leather interior and all creature comforts.

This is purely just a toy for track days/weekend blasts...

I have also just collected a set of yoko ao48 tyres for this, hopefully they give decent traction at Santa Pod!!

Went to a local classic car show today and my car got lots of possitive comments, however looked a Muppet as I had to get it bump start on wet grass to start it!!, as my slightly sticky starter motor failed!

Good to see you getting some use from this now. Hopefully you'll have it all sorted before Santa Pod...
