I don't have room to store it otherwise I would tear your arm off. I am just starting the process of building a Mini Marcos with Rover power and your car has most of what I need. Have you thought of braking it, I'd pay more than what you are asking just for the bits I need and you could probably get a fair price for scrapping the body shell.

Bits I need are:
Engine and box complete
front suspension arms, hubs, brakes and drive shafts
ECU and associated wiring
Wheels
Instruments
key fob (I think)

Cheers

Colin

Just my 2p worth.

I get the engine and box use in the Mini conversion. I currently have the same setup. I also used the clocks, ECU, 5AS and key fob which are a matched set. The wiring I also adapted to fit. You will also be able to adapt the gear lever and linkage.

Being the older engine it runs 143bhp. It cannot be remapped like the later 160 VVC which then should be around 175bhp.

I very much doubt if you could use the suspension, hubs, brakes or wheels. I looked into this when doing mine. It's just not viable.

The car looks a bargain by the way.

Sorry for delay in reply but have had issues with my daily to deal with. Discussed your offer with the wife as it is her car technically and it would depend on how much youíre offering for the parts you want and you being able to come and remove them. Realistically we just want rid of the complete car.

bargin x2 but too far for me as well

I read that the GTI is actually mem3s but with the older 143 bottom end and double angle valve seats.

That means it may be remappable but doesnt have the 160 stronger pistons

A pic would be good!

I stand corrected on the ECU. It's a MEMS 3.

I got confused with my donor car being a T reg. The X, 2001 must of had the later setup.

I actually cannot see why the engine wouldn't make 160bhp. There are very little internal differences. The CAT, throttle body and exhaust must make some of the increase.

Iím surprised itís a MEMS3 given both the Vi and BRM are MEMS2.

Thereís also the multi angle valve seats on the 160 head and a different map.

Was yours a 200vi rather than a 25 GTI?

The 200vi was mems2 143

Would be interesting to see what throttle body is on the 25 GTI

Yes, mine was a Vi.

I cannot believe Shaun hasn't snapped this up. I paid more for just a bare engine! Pull your finger out man...

I have to say that if this was anywhere else in the country it would of sold straight away. It's a 5 hour drive from me so not really viable.
