Got a little done over the week, been working away so only a couple hours here n there!
Got all the seat mounts in, welded to make them part of the car. Plated on the inner sill and a piece of 26mm 3mm wall tube for the mounts and 40mm 3mm wall angle for the bases to bolt to (welded to the crossmember I made and the standard mini one) hope the pics show it clear enough ![]() Also drilled a 70mm hole in the boot for the exhaust! Managed to get it bang on in the right place!! ![]() ![]() Not everyone’s cuppa tea but I’m really happy with it. Think as it’s gettin cooler now, I may be out there more! Just when it’s dark, it feels late, so I’m conscious on the noise I make!! Better get the heater out and put the aircon away till next year haha Dave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Evening!!
Exhaust trimmed down now, and a couple shots of how it sits. Struggling to get seats in a good place without either fouling the b pillar or each other ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Really need to start on the front end! How it’s gonna open etc!! Radiator, fuel cell....so much to do!! Got a lot of work on at mo, so mini only gets a few hours a week max now. Also need the motivation too! Happy how it’s all going tho Dave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A lot of people end up staggering seats because of fitment issues.

Wow! Nice work, this is going to be crazy, guess ear defenders will appear on the white board when you're close to finishing

Cheers buddy. Hopefully no need for the ear defenders, it will have a fully insulated bulk head, and a parcel shelf type affair on top. Will be loud outside tho haha Dave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So.....
Today my friends dad (the engineer) have me a set of fully adjustable coilovers from his v8 Westfield!! He has new ones and thought I’d make a use of them on this project or another in the future!! Haha good man!! They don’t make barely any suspension for the mgtf, let alone coilovers!! Gaz make them, but like £450 ish I think? And you have to send them yours to use the ends anyway. They’re eye to eye rather than eye and pin, but I cut my suspension up, cut the spax up, and welded the ends on haha!! Need shorter springs tho but super happy with my hours progress!! I’ll do the other front one tomor, and the rears another day. ![]() ![]() ![]() The spring plate could the arm of the suspension, but with shorter springs and the plates wound up a bit, it will all clear!! ![]() Super happy Dave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Today was eventful!! Had a morning laning on my bike, best morning out for ages!!!! Then....my mate just bought a new welder and wanted to practice!! So......I started on my inlet plenum!!!
Pics ![]() ![]() ![]() All 2 and 3mm alloy, weighs nothing!! Obviously some parts are just sat in the pics, but hopefully I’ll finish making the parts and he’ll come finish welding up this week!! He’s also gonna weld all my boost pipes rigid when it comes to it (apart from the end joints to allow a bit of movement, they’ll be silicon) If anyone can see anything wrong with what we’ve done, let me know ![]() Dave Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
