Default Hello from Cornwall

Hey you guys, hope you have room for an old man? Been lurking for some time now and seeing you guys with all that reliable power and five gears has made me cancel the build of my MG Metro 1275 build and go for a K Series. So now I need to sell some stuff to fund the project.

Been reading loads of excellent info on here, but being a bit old I forget stuff so hoping you'll steer a poor old man in the right direction

You say you are old but that's not an issue at all. With it comes a world of experience.

A very popular choice of engine. You will get a lot of experienced people on here if you get stuck.

I assume you have read up a few builds. Most usually start with a lot of welding.

There are many different ways of getting the engine fitted into a Mini. I assume you have chosen which route to take.

Everyone likes photo's so even if it's just a rusty shell you start with, bet a build diary going and add some pictures. There is a "how to" in this section.

Thanks AGoaty, Yes I have read quite a bit on here now, but I'm not very good at storing all the info in my head so I've been making notes I will have to sign-up to photobucket or somewhere to post a picture of Smidge my 71 Mk3 round nose. My other half bought me the car for my 50th back in 2009. It was a bit of a mess, but I've done all the rust on over the years and it was the intension to get back into rallying again with it, but health hasn't been too good so I'm going to settle for a fun car instead. It still has the original 998 and I was going to put a 1275 in with sporty cam and big valve head, but I keep looking at the cars you guys have, and I love the amount of reliable power, five gears and the small amount of cash these Rover conversion cost. I plan to modify the Mini subframe and run with the PG1 box, mainly because of the gear linkage. I can't wait to get stuck into it, but unfortunately I have to finish building the garage for all this to happen
