Next up was the rad header bottle, for this I used a small aluminium drinks bottle and mounted it the rear of the top rad bracket. I think it worked out ok and should work fine.

While I was in this area I also made a mounting point for the lower rad hose to fix to across the top of the subframe. The pipe doesn't represent how it will be once finished but it gives an idea.

I also had to make the front subframe bar, I recycled the original allspeed clubman one to give more clearance and to let the front to lift past without hitting.

Before stripping the front to get all parts powder coated I made the locking mechanism to keep the front latched. I played with a few Ideas but couldnít really find anything that was discrete. I ended up trying these button locks I think they worked out ok. I went for the M10 version that will hold 90kg each, even though the OD of the button was too big to fit in the area available I was sure I could make them fit with some machining. The number plate will cover the bolts on the front.

I added some other small brackets around the bulkhead for pipes and cables etc but nothing major, I then stripped the front out to add some filler to the holes that I had previously welded up. With the weather being so good I wheeled the car outside and started to prep for paint.

Before painting the bulkhead it had to be drilled holes for the heater hose bulkhead and the cable gland for the wiring harness.

With the bulkhead prepped it was time for some paint. Iím very happy with the results, just have to wait for all the front components to come back from powder coating to refit.

Thanks very much, its far from perfect but I'm happy enough with it so far. I'm slowly working through moving the photos to Flickr.
