I eventually chose a fuel pump capable of fuelling up to 600bhp engines (just in case I go forced induction at a later date).
It's an inline fuel pump. The inlet comes threaded at 16mm. The outlet thread is 12mm. I have an 8mm fuel adapter that screws in that end. I have purchased 3 meters of 8mm (internal bore) fuel hose which will run from the outlet to the engine. But, this is the question, what diameter fuel hose should i have going from the tank to the fuel pump? I'm guessing a larger diameter otherwise the inlet and outlet on the fuel pump wouldn't come in different sizes. Anyone who has used an inline pump, please could you let me know what diameter hose you ran from the tank to the pump ![]() Any help is great. Thanks, Mike |

What is the diameter of the outlet pipe from the tank, I would make it the same size as that. If you have the choice 12mm is what I would use.

I think that's what i'm going to do...seeing as the inlet and outlet different on the pump is 4mm, a 4mm difference is what i'm going to keep....so yea, 12mm sounds right!
I'll measure the tank up later.....I did actually get the 8mm hose on the tank but by god was it a mission.....so yea, it would definitely benefit from a larger fuel line! Ta for the reply |
