Weird electrical faults. I used an MGF loom on my car and it took weeks to sort out the electricals. The main thing with these looms is they are idiot proof. Only one socket can fit one plug. With this in mind the whole car was wired up only to find Rover in their wisdom on one plug and one socket duplicated the plug and socket to the fuse board. Yep I had the wrong plug in the wrong socket – so much for idiot proof ! The only fault you could make on the wiring loom.

Also watch out for the windscreen wiper motor. This has all the right coloured wires just not in the same sequence to the loom. This can scramble the grey matter when diagnosing a wiper fault.

I did exactly the same with that fuse board multi plug! Took ages of head scratching to sort it.

The wiper motor is easy. Swap the live and earth wires over. Posts 1 and 4 on the motor loom. The rest are colour matching to all the looms.
