Default Using HiLo's

I have HiLo's fitted to both of my Mini's. They are used in all weather conditions and as such they do go rusty. These then become seized and are a nightmare to free off, not helped by the poor design where you cannot hold the body so it just spins when trying to undo the bolt. When they were fitted they were greased but as the years go by this hasn't really helped.

Does anyone know of a product that will actually stop these corroding? I get that it's the aluminium body to steel bolt that makes it so bad. It seems to be the vertical mounted ones in the front that are worse. These have an open top so any water will sit inside them.

I always remove the bolt and cover it with copper grease and haven't had a problem. I've heard ACF50 is supposed to be good for corrosion resistance - the lotus boys seem to love it

Yes it is , it's also for galvanic corrosion, and don't set hard, I used it recently and I'm impressed !
