Default small water hose.

Hi guys

Ive got a quick question about the small water hose that goes from the top of the thermostat housing to the left hand side of the inlet manifold. Do you actually need it?. When people make there own manifolds do they put in that small 90degree fitting. Ive made my quads manifold using an original manifold flange but i removed the fitting and blocked the hole with a 1/8bsp plug. So was just wondering if i should put a 90 degree hose tail in and run the hose like the standard manifold.

Thanks
Matt

Is this in mk1 manifold?
If so, mk2 doesn't have them in their head casting.

Hi Atchi
Yes it is a mk1 head and manifold flange. Does this mean u dont need it, or the mk2 has an internal air bleed in the casting.

thanks matt

You don't need it in mk2 because it is closed as in head hasn't got opening. So this means car runs ok without it.
Air is not issue here. It is only there for water take off to other part of manifold.
