The main bearing clearances worked out at:
1. 0.0255 2. 0.0355 3. 0.041 4. 0.028 5. 0.03 I still have to plastigage but they look ok. The big ends will have to wait until I get a new Micrometer. |

I got the block sprayed as well, the picture makes it look very bright but it is a nice shade and very close to new cast aluminum. Time to get it back into the workshop and on the engine stand, I should get a bit more done over the weekend.

Have you got a set of test bars you can use to take up the missing gap so you can use the big mic. Not the best but fully possible .

Would be interesting to see what your measurements are for the big ends Have been measuring mine today for double check And still came out with being too tight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I got a bit more done today. I picked up a new micrometer as well.
I decided to keep the oil squirters as I frequent the Nurburgring so this engine will experience extended periods of high RPM usage. ![]() This is the assembly lube I use, it is very sticky and messy but works well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by keitht; 10-07-2017 at 10:24 AM. |

Yes plastigauged after and was corrected.
A lot happier with these tolerances using the thinner HX bearings Are you also using the ACL race HX? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good stuff, I'm not ready to fit them yet so can't platigage. Did you have tighter tolerances with different bearings? No I'm using off the shelf standard king bearings, I have photos of the part numbers on this thread somewhere. |

I got some more parts delivered over the weekend. B series gear linkage as my old one got binned by accident and an ITR flywheel which is in very good condition.

I first had ACL race bearings std
Then found out they do a thinner bearing that put me to my measurements within the top end of the tolerance As the standard size was just bellow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
