Default steering racks

Does anyone know if a Metro rack will fit straight into a mini and does it give a bit more throw/travel?

Which metro rack? Austin Metro is the same width as a Mini rack, Rover Metro is 4" wider due to the revised sub frame.

Default Thanks

The reason I want to know is I have built a Honda VTec Mini and moved rack back about 30mm. I put on the longer Metro arms (hubs) but this means the steering doesn't give me full lock because its moved back a bit. So wondering if the metro rack (early one) might give a bit more travel and be a direct fit with a standard mini one.
Cheers.

Best be checking bump steer then, as could be really bad now..

you will have to make the rack fit as the mini rack bolts the body of the car and the metro rack bolts to the subframe total different but can be done you r getting into a dark area when your messing with the lengths of the drumsticks
best to use a metro rack with orange band and bolt it to the frame that will leave steering as it should be

Rack with orange band, is that the early one that should bolt straight in to mini?

Sorry Blonda, cannot find it. I had a shed clearout a while back, and it looks like it went.
The rack i have in there at moment measures 96cm tip to tip. This i think is my old mini rack i replaced with a sportpack.
Pretty sure the metro was a bit longer.
