Default My Mini is now on Ebay.

Finally listed the Mini, sad times I know but I just do not have any time and will not for the next 2 years. Currently in Germany but I'm trailering it back this Thursday. Anyone interested then give me a shout.

Sorry Steve for posting on yours......

Anyway, mine has provisionally Sold, just waiting on the bidder to contact myself. I'm leaving to go back to Germany tomorrow so could have delivered pretty much anywhere today.....

Oh well if he doesn't get back to me I'll have to relist

Well the auction has ended over 36 hours ago with only two messages from the buyer, the latest message after I requested a deposit and instructed that he would not be able to collect untill Friday was "I pay cash when I pick up". Am I just being impatient?

It's not terribly polite, but based on the message it seems likely he'll turn up with a big wad of cash, in which case I'd just bite your lip and see it through. Quite often people who are abrupt on Ebay are fine in person. If he'd started making excuses about waiting for payday I'd be less tolerant but I don't hear any alarm bells yet

When I bought Scorpion off ebay I thought it was only right to pay a deposit. If I was a seller, as you are, I think it's only right to ask. It is in ebay rules.

The down side to this was when I went to collect it, had I not paid the deposit and saw that the car wasn't really as advertised I would of walked away. I could of argued this but decided to bite my lip and take it anyway.

Without a deposit, this guy could pick at everything and not pay up.

That's fair enough. It's 100% as advertised so can't grumble. Worse comes to worse I'll 're list it

If he does fall through you'll have no problem selling it. I missed out on the closing hours as I had something come up. If not I'd have put a bid in on the last few minutes

Default Back on ebay

Rite, that twat who hasn't bothered messaging me who bid and won the mini on EBay has let me down. It's cost me about 75 quid at the moment to list it!!!!

So to that end iv amended the listing and put it back on for another 5 days.

Put in the advert that a deposit is required of 250 within 24 hours of auction ending via PayPal. Ebay is full of this so a genuine bidder won't worry about this.

I would never pay any deposit on a private sale or through eBay without seeing the vehicle

Selling any cars is always hard work even more so modified cars

Is it worth sticking it on somewhere like piston heads? Quite a big audience and might be seen by a non-mini nut who fancies something a bit different. Plenty of people go shopping on there for a bit of excitement and quickly realise they can't afford a caterham!
