I prefer the way they do it in Japan with heavy duty 12 slot castle nuts and stainless R clips.

There’s a group on Facebook called “classic minis Japan new & used parts”
The guy that runs it is called David Ainley and he lives in Japan, he’ll tell you how much they are and work out postage, he’s really easy to deal with.
Just make sure that when you try to join the group that you have something Mini related as your profile picture as he’s a bit fussy about adding people to the group if their profile isn’t obvious that they have a Mini.
