There's a lot less rust on that shell than the one we used... !

looks like you got a good one

and tbh those nails were probably stronger than the special split pins that should be fitted.. so safety wasn't compromised.... I've done the same myself when I couldn't find a good split pin..

6 November i went about buying my engine first tried engine den their price wasn't too bad but they just wasnt bothered to help so we left and went to a shop called jap engines purchased the motor and gearbox, when we got back we lifted the engine onto the table and found out it had no compression. we quickly exchanged the engine and the second one felt much better, Got a 2 month guarantee so i will have to hurry with the subframe and wiring..
I replaced the clutch and pressure plate as well and removed the throttle bodies plastic box thingy.

4 November 2010
I cut away the minis front body to make life easyer. Had to remove the altenator will relocate it some other day. The engine is on the lift this is to get a rough idea how the engine and gearbox will be mounted. I stuck masking tape to close the throttles.

Welcome Marco. Looks interesting. Allways nice to see a different engine conversion. It's going to be quite tight for room by the looks of it in the bulkhead area and is that the oil filter housing at the front very close to the tie bar? Looks like a nice challenging build.

Looking good Marco. Good luck with the build, the car should fly with the 20v in it

Looks good.

If you are deseaming the rear quarters/rear panel joins, weld it up from the inside before removing the seams on the outside. It will save you having to weld up a big gap and risk the shell distorting

18 November 2010 The side shaftes and C.Vs will need to be machined to fit the minis hubs. The first phots shows the old shafts and on the gearbox is the new stronger ones.
