Default Speedster

Hi,

for info ill put the pics i posted on the dutch mini seven club here also.

The project started a year ago but i didnt do anything because of my other car.

Two weeks ago i started again to get it done before next summer.

This is the plan:

into a:

This is where i stopped:

And this is how far i got last 2 weekends:

Next week the frame is welded to the floorpan and the new sills along the doorsills.

Then the engine goes in to see where i can fit the suspension, upper wishbones, coilovers and the supportframe on the subframe. Its a bit similar to a Z-cars setup, but i used the MR2 subframe so everything will bolt straight on.

Then the roof comes off

I got the kit a year ago. That Banham dude is a fraud. He ripped me off big time before he sold his company.

In the back. The subframe comes from an MR2 so everything bolts straight on. The front sub will be mini, so i have to weld brackets where the bottom arms will go. That will be the hard part. Ow and making a hood.
I has to look as good as my cabrio, al the other cabrios suck bigtime with the hood up, i prefer a normal mini over them anytime (ok Lamm is sort of ok). I think ill copy the hood from the cabrio and work from there. It wont be easy.

My Cabrioni with elec hood, looks best with all windows open and hood up:

Folds 2 times like a Golf (they stole it from them) so its really flat, unlike the Rover:

Problem with the cabrio is that it has the looks and the sound but not the pace^^. Wife drives it

I have now purchased the roadster moulds from Paul Banham, and will hopefully be able to offer them as a kit fairly soon, and will be able to offer any bits you may need to complete the car

there were a few problems with the sale of the moulds to rsr.

needless to say, he owed paul banham a hefty amount of money, hence the reason for rsr folding.

now things have been sorted paul has obviously regained a lot of his moulds, and after a bit of a chat we agreed that i would buy the speedster moulds, which i will be producing agian at the beginning of the new year, with various carbon fibre options, which i must say look the business.

i also have an interesting removable hardtop conversion on the go, which i will hopefully have available to produce at the early part of next year.

if anyone is interested in kits etc. or need parts to finish a speedster, please pm me
